Topic tags/keywords: french polish shellac grain fill aqua coat mahogany

I’m giving french polish a shot for my table and have a question about grain filling. The top that I will apply the finish to is Ribbon African Mahogany.

On practice scrap I used pumice to fill the grain, but I’m wondering if I could just use aqua coat to do the initial grain fill and then continue the french polish after the grain is filled. Does anyone have any concerns with the approach?

THis Video series French Polish IV: Pore Fill Alternate may be of some help.
