Awhile ago, I accidently damaged several blades of my Freud SD208 dado set. The three good blades are the left outside and 2 – 1/8” chippers. The 1/16” chipper has a small gouge behind one carbide tip, tip is not damaged and may be salvageable. The remaining (right outside blade and two other 1/8” chippers) are pretty beat up and probably not worth repairing. I’d rather give these to someone who may want those as replacement parts for their SD208 set rather than toss them into the metal recycling bin at the dump.

I checked out replacement parts for the SD208 at this site:

http://search.store.yahoo.net/cgi-bin/nsearch?catalog=freud-tools&query=freud%20sd208%20replacement

It would cost about $67 to replace the right outside blade and three chippers (2 – 1/8” and 1 – 1/16” chippers) including shipping.

If you would be interested in couple of replacement SD208 parts along with the shim set and plastic carrier, I am willing sent them to you for the cost of shipping. PM me.

That is a generous offer and I was about to take you up on it, but based on the pictures of the case I found online, I think I’ve got a different model. Sorry to hear about the costly damage. Good dado sets are not cheap.

The Freud SD208 has outside blades with 12T. The chippers are 2 teeth each and there are 4 – 1/8” chippers and a single 1/16” chipper and shims making up the set.

The dado set is about two years old. The newer ones have a different finish (chrome-like appearance).

Thanks for looking at it.

Just to close out this thread, I sent the damaged dado set off to a LJ member this morning.
