Well, Christmas is here and I know the majority of us all hope Santa brings some sort of tools or accessories for our woodworking shop.
What did Santa bring you this year? (you can leave out the new ties, sweaters..etc.)

I treated myself to the Incra LS Positioner (17”) about a month or so ago, I used the router table that I had, but never quite liked the set-up. So Santa brought me an Incra 24” x 36” offset table, with the Incra Aluminum insert. Gotta get the table built for it now. Love that Incra stuff. Merry Christmas to all of you LumberJocks!

We r set just fine these days, but Santa blessed us with an auction of a near by shop that closed down. I was told the shop owner thought he could do whatever he wanted because “he had more money than God”. At least that is the story. So I managed to grab 15 cases of wood screws, those cases cost me between 100 and 150 per case throughout the year, and Santa blessed us. We also were blessed with 10 36” Irwin quick grip clamps. Those were the biggies, we also were blessed with many other smallish stuff like nail guns and moving blankets, office chairs, etc…

But my girls, they were truly the ones who were blessed and by their smiles I was in Heaven.

Greg,

Santa stopped by Amazon to get ratings on protractors! He knew I needed one and have a few Grizzly tools. Because it was well rated he flew all the way to China and dropped it off before delivering those toys made by elvian slave labor. Do elves have a union?

The package was delivered and it works. I can now see how accurate my sharpening of my plane blades is.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a Great Day!

Not exactly shop related, but I got a Leatherman tool, the “Surge.” Came in super handy for opening all of the dangerous toy packaging.

Santa gave me a $200.00 gift certificate from Home Depot. The money will go towards the cost of building a small workshop in my backyard. This will allow me to do the dirty dust work outside my basement and enjoy the birds when I’m carving a boot or two.
I have assembled most of the framing wood and a window from a home reno. Construction should begin in early spring!
Merry Christmas to all and let’s have a fantastic 2015!

He somehow knew I needed a riser block for my band saw (and, or course, new blades to go with it), an old Stanley #80 scraper plane, and a digital angle gauge. Fine work, Santa!

Why yes he did. Only thing is, I was in that suit! :-)

A new framing nailer to replace the old one that a friend had ruined.

An Incra HD1000 Table Saw Miter

And a Thin Rip jig for my table saw.

I really don’t need anything big or fancy. These three tools will help make me more productive this coming year. I have some repair to do on my storage shed and privacy fency. The nailer should do the trick just fine. I have several different nail strips so the three different degree angles will help me use up the nails I already have.

Couple months ago my wife took me to the local hardwood lumberyard and let me buy about $300 worth of exotics, which are going into guitars, jewelry boxes, and other things that make money for us…wait, now I get it!!
