Feb. 22, 2009

A little birdie told me that we have a very special celebration is coming up this week and so I’m starting a countdown here!

Martin, you will have to confirm the exact date for us.

According to my research Martin signed up 1091 days ago, which I believe was February 26, 2006. That means that in just 4 days the site will be three years old.

And the countdown begins:
4 days…

I had the date marked on my calendar. I figured that it the 25th with a leap year thrown in to the calculation.

Hi Ms. Debbie;

Martin has accomplished some amazing things here, in a relatively short period of time. He has created, and continues to “tweak” the already finest woodworking forum I have encountered.

I have missed you on this site, and hope all is going well for you.

I can’t believe this site is almost 3 years old and I just found it about 6 months ago. We have to have a huge celebration but how? Ms.Debbie got any ideas?

Thanks Martin for one heck of a woodworking community. You have done very well my friend.

yup.. it’s Feb 26. aaand I almost forgot ha ;)

We should do something special to celebrate this healthy 3yrs young baby… some ideas:

  • each LJ posts a nice how-to/tutorial about his favorite topic
  • each LJ posts a review of his most used tool
  • each LJ donates a few bucks

Good try… I know ;)
Any other ideas?

Well I guess I can pay for my own coffee and bagle with cream cheese. And then I can send the money to Martin. That way we can keep this great site glowing and growing.

I think Martin should buy us all 30” drum sanders. (I’m sure they are cheaper in bulk)... It would be like a “woodworker stimulus package”.... LOL

the traditional gift for a 3rd anniversary is leather.
We should start a challenge where LJ’s build something and incorporates leather into the design.

I’m sure that he has lots of projects that we haven’t seen yet that he can use… or he can just be our inspiration!!
I thought of him as soon as I read the list and saw “leather” for the 3rd anniversary.
