I knew I shouldn’t have moved to Shreveport. Not bad at $2.07 here though.

There is no way gas would be 11.00 a gallon in a free market. You government must be taxing the holy hell on gasoline.

You seem pretty happy with those prices Jim. Aren’t you afraid this cheap gas is going increase climate change?

AlaskaGuy – Climate change is an existing thingee already, whether gas is 11.00 USD or 1.42 USD.

The gas prices are pretty amazing and I wonder what is going on with it. Saudi Arabia has decided not to reduce production and that tends to keep the price down.

While I am happy to be paying a much lower price, the oil drilling people and workers are not happy as some are out of work in places. But the prices will not stay low…

The one thing that is really happening is that Russia is being squeezed very badly as so much of their income comes from oil and now the economy is being badly damaged. Putin is probably trying to figure out what to do. The Russian Rouble has taken a nose dive versus the US dollar.

It’s the same old thing that controls prices all over the world; supply and demand; the greater the demand, the higher the price and the greater the supply, the lower the cost. Demand is hard to control, but supply can be manipulated to the advantage of the powers to be.
