Topic tags/keywords: contest raffle walnut birdseye veritas dowelmax free tools win charity tool chest workbench

Hey all.
All the pictures, etc. are on my blog ....but In a nutshell, I’m building a black walnut and Birdseye Maple tool chest (and table), filling it with good stuff from Veritas, DowelMax, etc., and raffling it off at the show for Habitat for Humanity. So far I am looking at including 7 Veritas planes (From the bevel-up #6 all the way down to the apron), a set of chisels, carving chisels, rasps, markking and measuring tools, etc. etc. etc.

Rather than type all the details out all over again here, please check out my blog to see exactly what I’m up to :)

The Habitat Chest

Anybody who is coming to the Canadian Home Workshop Show in Toronto next weekend….you might want to bring an extra ten bucks :).

Hey Ryan, what a terrific idea. Does one have to go to Canada to enter the raffle?

HI guys…..heck, I wish I could win it!....it’s turning out better than I had hoped :)

Anyway, tickets are limited to those who attend the show (This is a last minute type thing….and to be honest just BUILDING the thing is pushing the time to the limit…..going with off-site sales would kill me :(

However

There is nothing saying that you cant send some $ to a fellow LJ that will be going to the show, and have that person buy a ticket for you….. ;)

Great looking job Ryan.

Those full extension walnut drawer slide work pretty good, don’t hey?

They do :) I took a slightly different approach on these, namely making the inside DT’s a very wide female, and using them as the drawer sides. By doing this, even though I used 1/2” thick stock, I ended up with only needing 1/2” clearence on either side.

They certainly are tedious to make though…....

Ryan Have been following your post and am certainly looking forward to the rest of the story. your cause is certainly a worthy one and your approach unique. I wish that I was free enough this weekend to get to Toronto or was it last weekend. In any case a very big LJ “well done” is definitely in order.
