Topic tags/keywords: miter saw

I purchased an assembled, but never used, Bosch 12” slider miter saw off of Craig’s list for $250 today. New, they sell for over $600. It replaces my fifteen year old 12” DeWalt slider that is starting to sputter a bit. This saw works fine so far. I will be curious to find out how well the ,no rail ,hinge type, sliding mechanism holds up. New, it is very smooth.

Holy crap, you got a brand new Axial Glide saw for $250?? Congrats!! I bought one on Black Friday and paid $490. Just got it setup last night, it’s an amazing piece of machine. I don’t know, but I feel like it’s the best design of any miter saw on the market… That’s an amazing deal, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was hot!

You made a great deal, I’m curious is it’s operating noise level?

Noise level isn’t bad at all, it’s belt driven, doesn’t whine like the direct drives.

Been looking at the 10” but $750.00 around here, a little high for my budget and the amount of use it would get.

I guess it is not hot. The gal I got it from told me her dad is closing his shop and has other tools available soon. It was his. It runs quietly and cuts fine. I used it today for a while and so far I like it.

I think that the fact that December is the premier shopping season helped me in two ways. The seller wanted the money for shopping and prospective buyers were too busy shopping for Christmas to buy for themselves. I check Craig’s list tools twice a day, every day, and have missed other good deals. And yes I feel lucky.
