Just a quick note of congratulations to Martyn for being added to the Wood Magazine Gallery of Woodworking Greats!!!
I think he deserves the recognition, both for his wonderful creative skill, and for his willingness to freely share his knowledge in a clear instructional manner.

May I add my congratulations to Martyn.
The box creation method he has so willingly shared enables even non experts like myself to achieve great results with joints and pattern matching.
However, his conceptions and the actual execution of his designs are in a league all of their own and for this it is so appropriate that he has received due recognition.

Martyn, someday, I would like to be good enough to try to replicate one of your designs. I have no hope for the creativity you possess. Congratulations and well deserved!

Err, well, thanks guys. I’m glad you enjoy the boxes. Gone a bit red with embarrassment now.

As for sharing knowledge, I think that’s what it’s for, it empowers people.

Be seeing you

a1Jim – I agree. I’ve been bugging Martyn about getting a book underway, but I don’t want to pressure him by mentioning it here. Ooops . . . it slipped out.
I sure would want a copy though.
