I wanted to let all of you know that if your looking for someone to repair your backsaws, I have found an outstanding professional saw guru.
About 4 month ago I bought a Disson 10” Backsaw that was made in 1912. Some of you might have seen it when I put it on here, looking for someone to sharpen it.
I ended up going online to Disson saws and of course they have been out of business for quite some time. I did however get the email off of the site of Peter Taran. Peter lives in Ohio and still specializes in repairing these old saws as well as newer ones. He not only sharpens them but also repairs them if needed.
I sent mine to him and had it back, like new in 4 weeks.
For those of you that need a sharpener or repairman, I highly recommend Peter.
His email address is peter@vintagesaws.com

Duckster,
you should have posted it here
it is the saw collecting, cleaning, buying, and repair thread. Some very talented people there. if you don’t have a saw to sharpen or repair they can even make you a new one.
