Price range, and any restrictions?

- knotscott

Good questions:
- Budget $600
- Small shop
- woodworking hobbyist
- easy to upgrade w/ off-the-shelve add-on

i can’t think of anything else

Here is a link to a sale at Woodcraft for a Steel City saw.
Cabinet mounted trunions, Full cast iron top, T-square type fence. Good reviews.
This saw, I believe, is an updated version of the saw that used to be the Ridgid 4511. The one that had the granite top.
The main diferences are that this saw has a riving knife and the cast iron top of course.

-- Michael: Hillary has a long list of accomplishments, though most DAs would refer to them as felonies.

I would skip the hybrids and buy a good used cabinet saw. About the same size, better built machines.
