What is the second thing you do? The stuff has to have a new bottle or a new lid, can’t leave it open. Or do you use what you need and drink the rest?

Now the thing I really hate is the packaging that tools come in. The plastic is so hard that it has to be cut off with the band saw and the band saw will barely cut that stuff. Even things like super glue are trussed up in plastic.

I’m with you cebfish. Those things are well beyond the child-proof caps on medicine bottles. I always end up cutting off the plastic as well.

I also hate those rectangular metal quart cans of denatured alcohol, lacquer thinner, acetone, etc with the pry off caps. Those used to be screw off, then screw off with the stupid push down slip ring thing then they went to a snap off cap but removed the thumb tab so there is no way to get the damn thing off without a screwdriver. I just take a scratch all and punch a hole in the corner of the metal top. Now I can squirt out what I want, but then I have to make a tapered plug to stop up the hole. At least, when I’m done I don’t need a tool kit to get to the contents anymore.

All this is really stupid and an example of where ignorant “progressive” government takes us. Frigging rules and regulations and safety devices to protect us from ourselves. I’d rather have government running the country and leave me the hell alone.

And could someone please tell me why a $1.00 extension cord needs 7 warning labels in at least two languages. If any one is stupid enough they can’t operate a damn extension cord maybe it would be a service to society for them to fry their dumb ass.

Rant over.

You guys don’t get it. It is called “adult proof” packaging. :)

Never seen them in Canada. Maybe it’s a USA thing? I’ve only seen them on Medicine Bottles. if we’re talking about the same thing.

If you think those things suck now, wait until you get old and arthritis in your hands and wrists sets in. You get to pry, cut, use a pair of pliers etc. all the while cussing like a rock star. The plastic packaging is the worst. Also, the lack of reasonable and coherent instructions. The little drawings that come with stuff now that pass as instructions are so ignorantly written/drawn by some cubicle bound tech writer that who knows what they mean. Finally, as was written, the multitude of languages that all of the warnings, notices and instructions are written in continually piss me off. Oh well, welcome to the new millennium, global economy. The older I get, the more petty insignificant stuff I find that pisses me off. I guess I’ve become just another grumpy old guy in funny clothes.
