I have to gloat a little about my Craig’s List router find. I picked up a Porter Cable 3 1/4hp (7519) for $180 last fall. I used it a few times but really put it to work the other day making base molding and cutting a bunch of dadoes. What a horse! That PC has tons of power and makes short work of profiling base molding. It was a simple ogee profile but a fairly good sized one and hard maple. No trace of bogging down. I did take it in two passes. I am going to build the New Yankee router table around this big workhorse. Just had to gloat a little.

Nice score, Mart. That router sells for 300+ new. Sounds like you got a good deal and it is a quality tool as well.

I love the read about gloats. It says good deals occasionally come my way if I am patient and look for them.

Enjoy your router.

That is a great score – At the Woodworking show – Hydraflow had the 7518 (5 speed version) in their booth for 319.00 usually 349, and they were including a PC trim router (says 67dollars normally). Good deal but I passed on parting with >3 franklins this weekend – needed to spens some on SWMBO for Valentines instead.
