Topic tags/keywords: router table

I was looking for an inexpensive and first router table – nothing elaborate as I’m just getting started, and saw the MLCS Aluminum Bench Top Router Table at Amazon for $145. They don’t have any reviews for this unit so I was wondering if anyone here is familiar with it or had suggestions.

Looked at the many ideas Rockler has but I don’t know enough about router tables to know what would be must haves and wanted to stay on the inexpensive side for now. Thought about constructing one but not enough time for that right now – too many other projects in the works!!

Thanks!!

I don’t have this particular model- mine is a similar one from Sears. I found the fence on mine as too small and didn’t have very many features. I took the table top and retrofitted it into an extension on my table saw. Then remade the fence similar to the one that “Norm” uses.

Pix aren’t too good but may give you an idea.

Thanks Lew! That does give me some ideas – I’ve never used a router table so am just learning about the various features and deciding what we’d really find useful.
