What do y’all think of the Bosch 1587 jigsaw? I’m thinking of buying one on ebay. Are the new (currently in production) models any better?

Bosch made a bazillion of the 1587’s and many contractors gravitated to them for a very long time due to their reputation. I’ve only had my hands on a few of the newer ones and while they feel of similar quality, they don’t yet have the tenure of the older ones. Parts (should you need them at some point) should be available for the 1587 for a long time yet to come. Most of the work I did on them was usually replacing a cord or a switch, other than that, nothing significant to speak of.

I guess the real question is: how good is the quality of the cuts this saw makes assuming a top of the line blade.
