I just heard Ridgid has released a new wood working bandsaw. I am sorry I am very skeptical of ANY woodworking tool(s) from Ridgid. After all the crap I went through with my R4512 Table saw, I seriously doubt ANYONE takes ridged seriously over their latest Cluster F**K.

BUT I will keep an dust free open mind..

Waiting to read a review on this nightmare….

I have the predessor to that saw, very happy with it. The new mobile base looks real good. Not sure what else changed.

I have a 3650, it has been trouble free for a long time now. I did have to enlarge the holes for the trunion mounts so I could square up everything. it’s good to go now. I heard horror stories about the 4512s

Virtually EVERY brand has marketed a few turds at one point or another. Delta, Craftsman, General, Porter Cable, et al.
If you write off every brand that has ever sold a crappy machine…....you won’t have many brands left to choose from.

Tedstor- You don’t have the bloody knuckles, wasted time, money and high blood pressure from dealing with a Ridgid R4512 to say that…..

I would not assume everyone had the same issue with rigid tools Rich.

I’ve never had a 4512 but have great results with all my ridgid tools ( drill and impact, brad nailer, orbital sander, cordless skilsaw, ts3650, spindle sander, sawzall)

Well, I have the Craftsman 21833, which is the exact same saw as the Ridgid 4512 and I completely agree.
It’s not so much that they produced a turd of a machine, it’s the total abandonment of their custiomers that I have an issue with.
They know they screwed up. They have a modified component in the damn saw now to fix the problem.
BUT, did they ever offer to recall the bad ones? NO.
Did they ever advise owners they might have a problem and at least offer to sell them a repair kit? NO.
They simply changed a part to reduce the number of complaints they get and went on as if nothing ever was wrong.
Real POS company in my humble opinion.

EVERY rigid tool I have owned or used has been substandard junk, right along with harbor freight. Neither are allowed in my shop.

Hey, I have an R4512 table saw and the blade spins just fine. Other than that there ar lots of issues, but the blade does turn. I thank Ridgid for steering me into older made in North America type tools. Like my Delta bandsaw and my Delta Unisaw. If it wasn’t for Ridgid I wouldn’t have seen the light. Thanks Ridgid! I can’t bring myself to buy made in Ch#%a tools if I can avoid it.

I have a R4512 and my only complaint is that i bought a hybrid / contractor saw instead of a true cabinet saw.
