Attended a local auction wednesday evening that had a few tools advertised. Was surprised to find 2 Chaplin patent planes, and a Winchester scraper plane. No money for black Friday sales, but hey, I got to sleep in today

You got a good haul there. One question: what is that wheel with the metal handles on either end? It looks like a grinding wheel, but I can’t picture it in use, the setup and such.

I believe it to be a dressing wheel for the old large grinding wheels often found on farms in my area, It was made in Urbana Oh, A town about 14 miles from me, so I had to own it.

That Winchester looks minty!! I also like the Stanley 95. They are a much under-appreciated tool in my opinion. Its finds like that that make all the wastes of time worthwhile:))
