Its time for me to replace the outer filter on my Jet air filtration unit. I see two options that I am interested in but am not sure what the difference is. There is a charcoal or a washable filter. What is the difference between the two? Which will last longer and/or perform better?

The charcoal filter is primarily used to remove odors out of the air. I would go with the washable version as it will certainly last longer than one the isn’t washable. At one time, Jet offered metal electrostatic washable filter. If you could find one of those I’d go that route. I’ve found mine to be almost indestructible.
