I’d been searching for a way to collect dust from my RAS. There are a lot of options out there. The area behind the saw is rather cramped. I needed something that wouldn’t take up much room.
I came across a short piece of green 4” sewer line. I cut a chunk out of it and screwed it to a box I made out of scrap melamine. The Rockler attachment wouldn’t fit on the pipe. I cut a 3/8” section out of the pipe and pinched it together and secured it with some heavy duty tape. The hose from the dust collector got in the way, so I made a hook that hangs from the cupboard above. If I were to do it over,I’d make the opening wider. It works pretty well, better than nothing…

I see you have the old style blade guard. Did you check to see if your serial number is eligible for the FREE up-graded blade guard from Sears?

That option is no longer avaiable.

Yeah, the recall was by Emerson on those old machines, but they no longer provide an upgrade. Only option they give you now is to send in the motor and receive $100 IIRC. I was fortunate enough to get one before they stopped.. just in time as my 20 year old table top was getting pretty sad looking.
