Can anyone give me some info on another mini lathe stand that is similar to the rikon but less expensive. I don’t want to appear cheap but 180.00 is a lot for it to just sit on. I can actually build it myself for a fraction of that cost;but at the moment I would like to start doing some turnings; ;rather than have to start building;;;thank you

Bite the bullet and buy the stand or get to building. If time is of essence either of these options will have you a stand the same day or by the next and you can be turning.

+1 for TravisH’s recommendation … any decent stand is going to cost about the same.

Teknatool makes one that’s available for like $165 shipped on ebay, but I’ve read some less-than-glowing reviews. I plan on making my own as time allows.
