Today I was turning an Olla from a green Palo Verde crotch. The first picture shows what it looked like 6+ minutes before it exploded.
This second image is 1 tenth of a second from exploding. If you look closely at the inside bottom you should notice a darker color. What that is is the arbor from my twist lock sanding disc I was using. I was sanding in reverse, pretty high speed as I find that it works better than slow speed.
This last picture is .01 second later. You can see the unscrewed arbor under the air tool used for sanding. It’s truely amazing how fast you can go from having a nice piece to having a bunch of wood shards….
No injuries to report, but do have some dissappointment…........ Jerry (in Tucson)
