Topic tags/keywords: project navigation

If I am looking at projects and I see their are 7061 pages of projects. I’ve seen the ones from 7061 back through 7048, as well as all of the recent ones. However, I’d like to see the ones in the middle, such as 1083 or 3999…anything. But you can’t type it in. I think that should be fixed.d

Well, good luck on that rquest.
I’ve been here for over 4 1/2 years and jocks have been asking a “go to” index of projects, search for members with filters like within a state, search for specefics within a thread, etc., etc.
Might as well pound sand. Never happens. Almost nothing is improved since I have been here. Except now we get to see a hell of a lot more advertizing.

If you look at your URL you can just replace the page or project number with a different number and go to that page/project.

For instance

http://lumberjocks.com/projects/1006
You can just type in projects/2000 and click enter and it will take you to that project.

http://lumberjocks.com/projects/page/3
Or type page/1000 click enter and go to that page.

Hope that makes sense.

EDIT:
I know not all that easy but it work.

2nd that request. I know there are people who look on here that are not members that may want to contact someone that is close for what ever reason. I was asked how many members are there on here from SD and I could not answer that cause it is not available.

Maybe if there were more advertisers they could afford to make the change? Maybe when we put a man on the moon, OH wait we did or did we??

Most people don’t put a location and if they do it isn’t always an actual city/state more like a general area. The location portion of the site was never designed to be a city/state searchable but I think the Workshops maybe. A lot of the things people are asking for, the website was never designed/formatted to do so changing/adding things can be difficult to nearly impossible. To add a location search you would have to change the location format, have everyone redo their bio’s, make it so it can be hidden if someone didn’t want it to be available to everyone. I am not saying I am against it just saying it would most likely be quite difficult if not impossible.

I may be completely wrong but I am pretty sure it wouldn’t be easy or really necessary in my mind.
