Topic tags/keywords: reclaimed hemlock clear finish

Hello, looking for some input on a clear finish for a hemlock kitchen table I am building. Trying to keep the natural look of the wood as much as possible with some level of durability. Don’t want anything too shiny want to look more farmhouse them bar top. So far have experimented on some scrap pieces with oil-based poly, which makes it too dark, and I’m now working with polyacrylic. Any other ideas of finishes I could use to keep as clear and natural look is possible and still maintain some protection.

Use either a semigloss or matt water based poly.
