Every weekend I see sale in OH and PA for a wood shop with nice powermatic machines, or nice delta machines. I really wish there were this many in IN, I don’t really want to drive 10 hours just for a machine. How many wood workers are there over yonder?

If anyone can chime in on what these auctions in Ohio brings for a 20” bandsaw or planer, or whatever. May be worth my time. If it is like anywhere else, the more avaialabe the less they go for.

I live about 20 minutes south of Cleveland Hopkins airport and try to make it to every machinery auction not too far away. The prices are highly variable and seems to depend a lot on the weather and how well the auction is advertised. I’ve seen people pay nearly brand new prices for old busted up junk and next to nothing for machines that look brand new. Just the luck of the draw I guess. I picked up a 12” Crescent jointer in ok shape, but I’ve since torn it down and am in the process of making work (if not look) like new.

That is the crap roll I would take driving out from Indianapolis. And why I wish I had a trailer to pull behind my suv. It gets better image than my truck. I don’t want to drive there on 10mpg. Especially to not bid on anything.

Don’t complain. You oughta live in Mississippi. Only tooling here is used beer openers. :)
Just jokin’, but machinery deals are few.
