I currently have this table saw that I never use, because it has no fence, no guard, no anything. Just the stand and the saw itself.

I need some sort of ripping capabilities and want to get some use out of this saw (even though I am aware it’s pretty much the bottom end for table saws.

So I’ve come up with 3 options:

1. Order a replacement fence for 30-40$

2. build a bench/station similar to this, and build a fence. I would likely go with the pipe clamp style DIY fence. I like this option for storage, router table in one.

3. Keep scouring for craigslist for a decent deal on a better saw.

I’m leaning towards number 2, just not sure about a DIY fence even being a good idea. Any input would be appreciated.

At best, the original fence is marginal.
Go for #2, but an all-round better saw will serve you best.
Just my thoughts.

I’m with Bill. #2 will work, but #3 is your best bet in the long run.
