What coatings should I use for coating the interior of the wine goblets that I turn.

If I were turning wine goblets I would not use any finish on the inside. I would turn them from birch which leaves no wood taste and it is also slightly antibiotic. End grain would leak through the open grain at the bottom, so you would have to turn the cup part from face grain and glue on an end grain stem. This can be easily done in a way to make the joint undetectable hidden by a bead or something. You can wash these goblets. The downside is that red wine will stain the wood and and make it look unwashed, so maybe not too practical. Personally I wouldn’t like to drink wine out of a wooden cup, but that’s me.
