i have a old craftsman drill press,,,and the quill don’t seem to move up and down as free as it should,,,any help on freeing it up,,,

It could just be clogged with sawdust and other debris. Have you tries soaking it with penetrating oil? You may need to disassemble and clean the parts.

PS: A model number or some other identification other than just “drill press” would help a lot
