Large Jumbo sized Logs often too big for local mills
I am toying with the idea of producing products that will be green lumber, cants, slabs, flitches for folks that like to work with real wood with character and natural occurring patterns, colors, and defects, crotches, Swell butts, etc.
I would appreciate any input from this community that you may want to offer.
Other species that I run into are as follows:
Red-Hearted Sweetgum, Red Elm, Loblolly Bay Magnolia, Soft Maple, Hickory and Pecan, Sycamore, Bois-D’Arc (Osage Orange), Eastern Red Cedar, Southern Yellow Pine, Bald Cypress, American Beech, Yellow Poplar, Ash, some Walnut and Cherry, Swamp Tupelo Gum, various Red and White oaks
