I just had a thought about making a cutting board for a family member for Christmas this year & I wanted to run this idea by all the experts.

If I made a cutting board out of plywood strips turned on their sides and then used a 2 part epoxy to seal it, would that be okay to use?

I’m not sure if this is a good idea or not – I think it would look great, but I just want to make sure this is going to work.

Would any of your family members be O.K. with consuming a little epoxy here and there? In my case, I really don’t care if epoxy is food-safe when it dries I just don’t want it travelling through my system.

I agree with jinx… I dont care for the idea of plywood for cutting boards.

You can get some real nice striping effects by using light and dark colored woods
