I’m in the process of completing the finishing of a 12 year old project that’s been in use since then. About 6 years ago, I bought a gallon of Bona Mega floor finish to replace my usual waterborne, Varathane. I also bought Gramercy synthetic brushes to see how they perform with waterborne finishes. I finally got around to using the combination on this job. From now on it’s my go-to pair for any project that doesn’t get a spray lacquer finish. The Bona Mega lays out smooth and bubble free with the Gramercy brush, and is ready to recoat in a couple hours without intermediate scuffing or sanding. Depending on the number of coats, the final finish can be made to look like an oil (without making the wood BLO muddy dull), up to a glassy clear coat.

The only thing Bona Mega is good for is starting fires.
