Anyone have any idea what kind of wood this is? Its scrap from a cabinet shop. i was thinking redwood but that’s
not very common for cabinets. I put some mineral spirits on the right side to maybe help identify.

based on the quality of the photo and quantity of photos to look at I’ll shoot from the hip and GUESS Cherry

Thanks guys I just usually dont deal with cherry this dark but i just ran it through the planer and that smell is definitely cherry thanks again!

It’s a wonderful smell, isn’t it! It’s like somebody baking cherry pies.
