Im trying to get back into using the shopsmith and i thought about using it to make some signs using a v groove router bit in the drill press,,,can anyone help or give their option of this,,,,

In my 40 years of using Shopsmiths I’ve found that it won’t turn the bit fast enough. But, I’ve never tried a v groove bit.
The new DC power head, The Power Pro, is capable of turning fast enough, though. Good excuse to
upgrade. :-)
I use the over arm router. Cheaper than a Power Pro.

Check out this post.
You can use the drill press as the pin end of a pin router system and a trim router as the cutter end. I use my old 10ER for it and it works very well.
