My old school pal Irvy (Irving) asked me if I had a pipe around, as he is looking for one to weed him off the cigarettes.I have some nice dense hardwood and have just ordered a nice mouthpiece has anyone ever made one of these stinky things LOL and could steer me in the correct direction please? I am an avid turner but for the life of me I cannot think of how it could be turned unless of course you make it in at least two pieces which is what I would do without your great advice. please help me if you can as I want it to be a nice looker incidently the mouthpiece has a slight curve Alistair
I would think only the Stem would have to be Turned to fit a drilled hole in the Bowl…
... one could hand sculpture the rest…
The Best thing your friend could do, would be to STOP smoking all together…
... I went from cigarettes to a pipe many years ago… and finally just STOPPED cold turkey, when I could not take a deep breathe for a chest x-ray… It can be done…
Mafe has posted a couple of pipe projects (this and this), plus he has done a blog on the making of a pipe.
