Hi Folks – I’m planning to make a music box for my 5-year old granddaughter for Christmas but am unsure as to what music box movement to order. As I search online, I see a dizzying array of options ranging from a few dollars (probably not good) to many thousands of dollars (WAY out of range!).

Have any of you found a reasonably priced reliable unit that you would recommend for this kind of project?

Thanks to all for the always valuable feedback.

Rockler has some pretty good ones and are not that expensive. I have used one and it worked well. You will have to make a nice opening in the box for the wind up wand.
Good luck and I hope this helps.
