I would like to buy a couple of large flat rate boxes of 6/4 to 8/4 thick stock to build some end grain cutting boards. These species are what I’m looking for: Maple, Cherry, Walnut, Purpleheart, or any other tight grained woods you may have.

Let me know what you may have.

Thank you,
dlg

Don’t call, just visit yer local custom stair supplier, they likley got lots of offcuts.

(call em, you become a pita, visit them, you are a fellow wood butcher whom they might help out….)

Mind you you may have to compete with the turners..

Local stair shop used to give them away, nowadays they don’t.

There are no local custom stair suppliers. And most stair treads are 5/4 stock, a little thin for what I need.

Treads may only be 5/4 but the newel posts and lumber for the hand rails isn’t.

I may have some thick (6/4 to 10/4) cherry and walnut offcuts, possibly maple too. PM me and we can trade emails. Thanks!
