I just moved to the Tampa area & have a large home with a lot of hardwoods in really bad condition, as you can see. My question is: would it be better to tear them out and start over, or call a flooring company in the area that specializes in hardwoods, like Yeager Flooring to take a look at the situation and perhaps refinish them?
get a belt sander and clean up a couple of square yards, if it looks ok get a professional to sand and refinish.
A vintage floor with some marks left will add character to the house.
We have an old house in St Pete and over the years we have done some ourselves and hired some out. If they haven't been done to many times they will turn out fine.
