I have a later model (718 I believe) and got it for $350 as a floor model at Lowes a couple years ago. Nice machine and I highly recommend, though I have very few hours on it and maybe someone else should check in.

I purchased a DeWalt 708 Miter saw in 2000 and paid $332 for it at Home Depot in California.. I am still using this fine power tool. I am on my third blade and it still cuts true angles for me. I have used it almost every day since 2000. Though I have not done any repairs to this saw, I understand there are still parts available for it.
