Topic tags/keywords: hf dust collector question

Want to use 1HP HF dust collector mounted sideways allowing intake to position directly above Thein baffle outlet for better airflow. Has anyone encountered any problems with the motor/impetter bearings becoming prematurely worn, or failing outright?

I have had mine mounted this way for over a year and no problems so far. Did not even think it would be a problem.

By shifting the motor axis from horizontal to vertical, may put more “thrust load” on the bearings. That may shorten the life of the bearings.
