The “Warning” label on the fence on my new 36-725 caught my eye today. At first glance, it appears to be in English, French, and Spanish. (Warning, Avertissement, Advertencia) But for some reason, I looked a bit closer, and noticed that the French and Spanish warnings had been “greeked out.” Designers put phony Latin text in as placeholders on Web and print prototype designs, as placeholders until the actual text is available. This practice is called “greeking.” So at least on my saw, a prototype design made it into the wild. Everything else seems to be the real thing, though.

It’s hard to see in the photo. Here’s what the “French” version says:

Oterurni ce condere et; nit ad illis num acester issilli vividiem tenum mendam opublicae pubitati que tussupi milicae cupiemussici in audam, adducep erterei publienti poriam egerorum no ampro elum.

I would have never noticed the “language” wasn’t French (IF I was to even look that close at it)

Looks like they left out lorem ipsum. Copywriter must have felt like changing things up.

What? No “Dominus vobiscum”???

I remember as a 10 year old, hearing the Catholic priests saying that at the end of church. We (the kids) used to giggle and say “Dominos and biscuits to you father” as we left the church.
