Hello from sunny Wichita Kansas!
Last year my wonderful wife announced that she’d like to have a little family get together in the spring, and wanted a couple of new picnic tables for the shindig. So off we went to the big box stores looking at their offerings. I was somewhat taken aback at the price of the “kit” tables, and uttered those famous words, “I can build that!” It’s all been downhill from there… :)
Anyway, said lovely wife got her picnic tables in exchange for a DeWalt 12” compound miter saw, which sits alongside a few other tools I’ve accumulated over the years. There’s an old Craftsman 113 table saw a friend gave me a while back (it was in need of some major refurbishment – that was a project in itself) and a mondo huge Harbor Freight drill press. I also have a few other small power tools (jig saw, belt and jitterbug sanders, a couple of routers, and a few corded and cordless drills,) and a few hand saws, clamps, and chisels. And one single, solitary, lonely plane that I know NOTHING about. Have to work on that. I have a wish list of other tools I want to add to my collection (don’t we all) but my current state of financial embarrassment won’t allow it.
So I’m here to learn, share, and drool over the projects I see in the Projects forum. Looking forward to it.
