Sargent 418C Type 2..?

I do quite a few clean ups or restores on Stanley planes.
Recently have moved to collecting Sargent planes.

Here is what I have, a horseshoe style frog Sargent

The plane appears to have rosewood tote and knob, blade has an oval logo but was worn out, but did have another that has the same stamping.

Lever cap matches a Type 2 along with the cutter, any feed back would help.
Was going to do a restore on it, but do noit know if I should leave well enough alone on it.

If its corragated and a type 2, then its a 5418. A nice find.

Thanks Don for the added link, it just confirms what I thought a Type 2.
Here is another pic or two in better lighting.
One has to notice the original blade was almost used up, so the plane has seen it’s share of work.

Now the kicker, the plane was sent across the U.S. in this box with absolutely no padding or protection, nothing.
I have decided to do a full restore on the plane, I would think the original owner would approve.
