Anyone know what Lee Valley is coming out with tomorrow? I talked to a guy at the store today he said, ” I’d tell you but they’d kill me, or I’d have to kill you. One or the other!” However, he added that if you make A&C furniture you might want to be there. -- No craft is very far from the line beyond which is magic. -- Lord Dunsany |

Well, in case anyone is wondering. It is a new line of bevel down bench planes (4, 4.5, 5, 5.5, 7) with a fixed frog and moveable toe, along with fence mounting holes. That you can pick/choose between different totes, knobs and frogs (angles). http://www.leevalley.com/US/Wood/CustomPlane.aspx And for buying the fence and other options separately http://www.leevalley.com/US/Wood/page.aspx?p=72240&cat=1,41182 |

^ Ohh …those rascals. It is pretty smart. I like the looks better than their other planes. -- "At the end of the day, try and make it beautiful....because the world is full of ugly." Konrad Sauer |

I wondered what that cart was hiding… Thanks for the link. That depth adjustment and cutter assembly looks like my chinese junker #4 which made me nervous for a second but 75% of the traditional plane irons are for adjustments so it makes sense. The forum better prepare for a rash of what frog/tote angles are best. lol. |
