Hey guys new to the site! Just moved to Daphne, AL… Does anyone know the area, specifically where I can get good deals on rough cut stock. Preferably maple or oak. -- GO DAWGS!!! SIC'EM |

There is a site called Woodfinder. I checked there and the closest place to you listed was 82 miles away. Maybe someone local can help you out. I don’t have any good local places here either. I have found a few good deals on some lumber through Craigslist though. I also noticed in your profile you found this site when looking for ideas for a lumber rack. I built ones a few years back and posted the project here. Click here to see the project. I have it loaded up now with close to 200bf of wood and it is rock solid. -- Check out my projects and videos http://dlgwoodwork.com |

Search for “lumber” on Craigslist in your area. In my area, all the local sawmills post there regularly. You can find their websites and learn more about them. Welcome to Lumberjocks. We used Peach State Lumber a good bit for smaller quantities. A lot of our lumber came in from out of state for the truckload quantities. helluvawreck aka Charles -- helluvawreck aka Charles, http://woodworkingexpo.wordpress.com |
