Picked up the lumber I went and looked at the other day! 39 pieces of walnut, and 10 pieces of oak. All are 12ft long, and only 4 boards are 2” thick, others are around 1” and variety of width from 6” to around 10”. Not all of the are straight, some have curves to them, but they are mainly flat and straight. Paid 150 including renting a trailer to bring it home.

Well I want to make a bed frame to sell, and a woman asked me to make this (I will attach picture), would the walnut be nice for this project? Or to nice for this kind of project.

ditto what Don said. Walnut is one of my favorites and nice faor almostq anything! That being said, you have two ways to look at it. That bed looks to be pine, so for $150 in pine you have that bed made and keep the nicer wood for yourself. or you can use the walnut and it will be sweet, but darker. then you burned through nice hardwood and might not see a deal like you got again.

Just because I got a good deal, doesn’t mean that I don’t charge as if I did not get a good deal. I just want to make something that will look amazing! I don’t know what it would look like finished, and didn’t want to waste the walnut on this style if it doesn’t look amazing.

If you can get the client to pay for the difference for the more expensive materials, go for it. If not …
