Topic tags/keywords: question drill-driver drill press tap spike coat rack mounting

Hope I’m posting this in the right forum.

Does anyone know where to purchase railroad spikes that have already been drilled and tapped for mounting on coat racks? I’d try to drill and tap them myself, but with my limited knowledge of this process I thought I’d start by looking for something already pre-made.

Thanks,
TZH

Never heard of it. Not to say it doesn’t exist but doesn’t sound like something one could find to purchase. Good luck.

I did find this site though. HERE

Thanks. I think the site you provided might be the answer. Son and I are going to try the drill and tap process tomorrow, and I’ll post the results when we find out whether or not it works. He has several tap sets, I have the drill press and titanium bits. Will see what happens.
