Ok, so you may recall my other threads talking about a score I’m getting from an awesome family friend in Asheville, NC who’s getting out of woodworking and giving me a bunch of his stock and some tools. My parents went down there to visit and agreed to drive a U-Haul back up. For the price of the U-Haul rental and gas, this is what I’ve got coming back to MN in a few days:

I’ll have to sell some of the haul to cover the transport costs (about $2,000), but I figure that should still leave me with plenty of wood AND a big-a$$ planer.

Incidentally, if any Jocks in Minnesota are interested in buying, PM me :-).

Man, just yesterday I was pricing wood from my local supplier. Decent wood just costs a lot. That is an awesome haul and worth every penny.

P.S. You owe your parents. Big time.

Ok here are some preliminary pics of the bigger pieces, mostly cherry and walnut I think. I’m maybe 1/4 unloaded, if that. These pics don’t even include about 20 4/4 boards I put in my garage.

Some of those slabs against my house are 10’ tall and at least 3-4” thick!
