My father in law has been collecting coins for decades. I would like to make him a display case or cases so he can display some of them.

I haven’t found many posts on coin display projects.

Would appreciate any input or direction that any of you can provide.

I’m interested in this topic. I was thinking something similar to knife display cases. It’s foam on the inside and when you shut the glass front it presses the knives into the foam. Not sure how well that would work with coins though.

I don’t know anything about coin collecting, but when you design it, a nice feature may be removable inserts for different size coins. This would make it easy for him to decide what coins go where, and reorganize as his collection grows.

Whenever I strike out on LJ I try Google. If you type in wood coin display case & look at the images there are many ideas that can get the mind thinking.

I have made several coin displays and will show you some in an email if you want. They will look similar to this
