Topic tags/keywords: drill press

Anyone have any experience with Sprunger machinery? There is a floor drill press model NDP 15
for sale near me for $75. It has been on Craigslist for a month and the seller still has it. The price seems reasonable for an early 70’s drill press. I’m not sure if it hasn’t sold because of the brand or if the market for a floor drill press is just slow in the area. I think I will offer $50 and see where it goes. Any advice?

That’s a good price assuming it doesn’t need work.

It looks like the table does not have rack and pinion. It’s
probably not so heavy to make that an issue.

They were USA made.

That clamp is nice. If it’s included that would be a
big score. Otherwise the price is pretty sweet. You’ll
not find a clean floor drill press for much less very

Yes the clamp is included. The owner agreed to to sell it for $65. I will be going over to check it out in Sunday. I will be taking a straight bit and some wood to test it out.

Sprunger was manufactured in Indiana. They had a line of stationary tools. I have a table saw and it is built well.

I had a Sprunger 10” Table Saw that i bought from a neighbor for $100.00 in 1969, i don’t know what year it was but i used it for 22 yrs. it was built solid, but the fence left something to be desired. I finally sold it for what i give for it.
I think the guy that bought it is still using it. I was told at one time that the old Firestone Stores sold that brand.
