I’m not sure if this is where i need to post….
My husband has been woodturning for a few years. His birthday is coming up. All i know is that he needs a good used lathe that is variable speed with larger than a 12” swing (because he primarily turns bowls). He HATES Shopsmith…passed up quite a few of those at Estate Sales. If anyone has one for sale, please email at: rustheat23@gmail.com

Would be better if contacted a local woodturning club and ask members if they know if someone is selling a good lathe.

If fill in the blanks can find local turning clubs near you at this site.

Rusty cuts would need to know what lathe your husband has now how much space you have and electrical supply. Of course how much do you have to spend. Variable speed lathe come in three varieties, move the belt along pulley manually, reeves drive, and electronic variable speed. Nice to know new prices of lathes when shopping for used lathes.

This is an example of moving belts over pulleys to change speeds.

Will find many of these reeves drive lathes on used lathe market.

This is one type of EVS wood lathe.

Here is another EVS lathe can buy 110V or 220V. Several venders carry this lathe in different colors.

There are few 14” & 15” used lathes want to avoid.
