I got a bunch these boards for free on CL. The seller didn’t know what they were my first guess was cherry but the grain makes me think soft maple. What are your thoughts? Pics are below.

I would certainly lean towards cherry. The heart to sap wood is what makes me think that. The cherry I have is softer to the thumbnail than soft maple.

Sure looks like cherry to me. End grain pitchers are always helpful.

It’s probably cherry then. I just got don’t stacking that bin full and it was weird there were about 10 boards were (3) 4” wide boards glued up to make a panel. Seems odd to have 2’-4’ cut offs of panels.
