Well I’ve been working on my new sculpture for a few days now. I have to say that the maple is tough to carve sometimes. I almost gave up on it today because a huge section broke out. Well the entire thing broke vertually in half and I had to glue it together and walk away from it for the day. Hopefully tomorrow goes a little better for me on it. The shape of the piece is almost complete. Maybe 4 or so more hours. But tomorrow I have to go to Indio for my Sheriffs Exam. I hope I do good on it. I bought a book to study but never put an effort in it because I’ve been keeping my mind occupied on carving. Things have been so bad lately that that’s the only thing that keeps me from going bonkers. I’m not out trying to get praise for my carvings. I hope everyone knows that. I’m just out there trying to stay busy, knowing that I should and have to get a job somewhere. I’m not sure that will be easy for me since I’m used to being the boss, but I can’t live on the street either. We’ll see how it goes. At any rate Riverside county is where I am moving so if there’s anyone over there with work let me know. I’m interested.
I hope everyone likes my sculpture, that is if it doesn’t end up in the dumpster first.
Thanks for listening.

kolwdwkr, Good luck on the test. Generally speaking, those test are to determine other things besides your knowledge of law enforcement. Usually, a teachable attitude and a balanced mental state are sought. You will learn all that is needed in the academy. Starting with a blank slate is an advantage because you don’t have to unlearn anything. You will do well, I’ve listened to you enough to make that judgment.
